Unlikely. Trackfocus reported this a week or two ago, and it turned out to be false. He said he won't decide until late spring or May. Competitor got his grade wrong, and said he will start college in 2012. So I wouldn't trust them on this. Besides, we don't even know if he'll run in college for sure.
This is last week's news.
A Univ of Oregon or other top running, but not academically top-notch, program may be his only choice. Per his bio in the recent Gatorade press release, he has a 3.25 GPA, in a public school. Although a Verbizcas would no doubt love a prestige running school, and vice versa, they can't touch him at this grade level. This is way below the level required for an academically prestigious top running school like a Stanford, Duke or one of the ivies. With a GPA at this "B" level in a public school, his SATs are probably weak, too. Oregon would be a great fit, as would a Colorado or maybe even a Florida. For a once in a generation runner like Verzbicas, who cares whether he can tell an infinitive from infinity? He hasn't been groomed to be an Einstein. He has been groomed to be a top level athlete, which he is, and more. He may be the best high school runner of the past decade. Thoughts?

How does an infinitive from infinity differ from an infinitive from, say, Pittsburgh?
so what's wrong if he goes to a school for mortals. so what if he's like a normal dude. how many millions of regular guidos and guidettes "only got a regular education" at an sec, big10, big12, suny, cal st, bigeast, non-calif-pac10, or a juco ?
oh hey like wow i went to stanford and i'm all that you know wow i'm just too much
Since when is Duke a prestigious men's track program? No f-ing chance L.V. ends up there. He could go to UNC though! Or I could see him at Virginia.
a 3.25 is like a 87-90 average. I hate when people come on this website and act like only people with A+ averages and 1550 SATs can get into colleges.Lukas, with his grades and running can get into ANY school. I few years ago I had two football players get into harvard and with 3.11 and 3.19 GPAs and 1410 and 1360 SATs respectively. About 7-8 years ago I had a cross country guy get into an Ivy with 12X0s on his SATs and about a 3.2 GPA, he did run low 9s and had great range up and down, event wise. From what college entrance board members have told me, a "special talent" stamp or ticket can add between .33 and .66 to a GPA and 50 to 150 points onto the SAT. Depending on the sport and the amount of special talents the coach needs for the year.

Fleet foot, Lukas's high school "Carl Sandburg" is one of the top ( not THE top) high schools in illinois. Their test scores always put them at the top of the list. While I have no information on lukas's class load or other personal information going to Sandburg is a plus in this case even if it is just a public school as you say.
And this is coming from a catholic school graduate, all the way thru college. My parents must of been brainwashed by the church. My kids go to a different but also top public school district and we wouldn't trade it for the world. And while my oldest didn't get accepted to Princeton A few of the next level Ivies did give us verbals of acceptance after seeing his transcripts ( 3.8 gpa ). Were staying in State at the Lowly public university.

Reading that made me want to puke.

Is this GPA weighted or unweighted?

Thank you! The elitism regarding academics on this board is astounding. A 3.0 gpa is not terrible by any means, and you can get a good job if you go to a "bad" school.
I thought he's been groomed to become the fastest truck driver of all time. Throw the Oxnard Truck Driving School into the mix.
This guy is right on.
