The short version
At what point will employers completely ignore someone who has graduated from undergrad but has never had a real full time job related to their discipline?
The long version
I graduated in 2009 with an engineering mgmt degree from a decent school. (blew it as an ME and dropped down, to get out in four years) Since school I have traveled a lot and held a few short term project based jobs, but have never gotten very far in actually attaining a 'real' salaried job. I go through periods of networking as much as I can and looking like crazy, and every now and then I get really depressed and give up for a few weeks at a shot.
Have I been out too long without doing anything for my degree to have any value any more?
I feel like I've forgotten everything I learned in school save a few basic computer programs (AutoCad MS. Project) Its so weird that I could be half way to a completely different bachelors or be graduating for a masters at this point.
anyone ever go through something like this?
