I am looking to race some triathlons this summer with my friends. I'm a total novice, don't own a bike yet and can't swim very well, but I think I have a decent amount of potential and it looks like fun.
However, I also want to run a fall marathon - either Chicago or NYC because they are the biggest and I have friends in both cities. Chicago is in early October and NYC is early November. Do any of you guys have experience with running a marathon after your first triathlon season?
I'd prefer to drop a fast time at Chicago if possible but I don't want to shoot myself in the foot with "too much" biking and "not enough" running...so I'd be willing to wait until NYC if that's what I need to do to maximize performance.
Any advice is much appreciated!
