Blogs or books?
I have a few of those and am interested to see what you get for them. Too bad they're not available to the states.
I might like the one by Peters, depending on the content, i.e. training vs dramatics. Maybe someone would be interested in a trade if they have it.
biogs----biographies. i see where you thought blogs....
Peters' book consists more of anecdotes rather than much details about his training - although it is still a great read and it really paints a very vivid picture of his era.
It still quite amazing to think that because of Britain's amateur rules he wasn't allowed to go to Boston on his own in 1954 to compete in the Boston Marathon - the British Athletics Association Board insisted he was accompanied by a team manager. This provided extra hassle for those people in America that were trying to raise money to bring Peters over as he couldn't afford the air fare and the BAAB wouldn't pay anything!
Thanks to the efforts of marathon organiser Jock Semple and Jerry Nason at the Boston Daily Globe the money was found but Peter's remarked at the end of it that he arrived home £5.00 out of pocket!
he was second on the day - 2.22.40 - a couple of minutes behind Veikko Karvonen of FInland
