why is it that the women have an "A" and "B" standard for the marathon trials and the men just have one standard for 2012? Is a 2:45:00 time for women to qualify for the trials equivalent to the 2:19:00 that men have to run? Not to be too much of a chauvinist pig- but I wonder about the reasoning behind this?
what would you consider to be equivalent for men and women in the marathon? obviously there are a lot of variables involved. It seems like the you have women qualifying for the trials who come out after running marathons for a couple years and pop a trials qualifier easily- whereas the men that qualify usually at least ran in college and toiled at 100mpw+ for years before making it.
