this is classic - everyone in say rural south carolina believes this stuff. Everyone educated in say Boston knows that the message in that video is ridiculous.
I say go with someone with brains rather than the people who, say, go to balls celebrating the secession.
hear hear!!

Believe what stuff? That government is corrupt? That perhaps government is spending too much? That politicians are greedy and many things that happen on capitol hill are no longer constitutional? Perhaps you should have said people in "educated" Boston are sheeple. It doesn't take a genius to know that corruption is running rampant in our country. Beside, how do you know what you so confidently proclaim? I know a lot of intelligent people that don't trust the government, in fact, this seems to be the trend nowadays. I would rather have someone distrustful of their government and question its actions rather than blindly have faith in its actions and deny that people are greedy or that politicians would want anything other than the best for you and your family, even if it means losing a profit or another term in office. Your stereotypes are not only inaccurate, they are ironic. Ever heard a country song singing against our government? Nope, blind patriotism. As far as I know, most of the people crying out for change are from the north and educated areas, and the rednecks are the ones screaming blind patriotism at all costs.
Every statement in that video is true.
Too bad for you. HMOs, PPOs, Doctors, Hospitals, Drug Companies, and Pharmacies are now regulated public utilities under the laws of the United States Government.
Not EVERYONE educated up here is totally in agreement with you yepper.
Get a gun, now, so you can defend your street against the PRC Army.
If only people with college degrees were allowed to vote, this would be a very different country.
Here is a graph of public trust in government in the modern era from Pew Research:
http://people-press.org/trust/
Trust in government is related to simple competence to do something positive for the country. Nixon-Ford and the two Bushes are regarded as FAILS, while Clinton, Kennedy, and LBJ are regarded more positively.
By almost ANY measure, Republicans SUCK.
That video is 2 years old, back when the Tea Party had not yet revealed themselves for the morons they are. As for Too Bad; you should pay closer attention. Doctors and Pharmacies have always been regulated by the government or you wouldn't need a license or even a degree to be a doctor or pharmacist. You better let the Drug Companies know that they are now public utilities. They may want to inform the shareholders that think THEY own them. Idiot.
P.S., the health reform bill is made up almost entirely of former republican proposals. Why do you think the left is so mad about it? Get a clue and turn off Glenn Beck if you want to actually learn something.

Yea, but right now we RULE!
You may have the House, but we have the Presidency, and that worked pretty well the last time.

Um, I don't have a problem with Republicans. They're not f'n over the country, it's the Republican politicians that are doing all the damage. Yeah, I guess you could argue they vote those clowns in, but seriously, my old man is a Republican and he's not the problem with this country. Of course he's not a crazy moralist crusader waiting to bomb half of the near east. Ok some of those guys have problems.
I think every american should be required to read Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States" before being allowed any freedoms. If everyone had to read this (like they have to read a typical history book in high school), I would imagine much more sophisicated arguements and possibly a different kind of government, but then again, after reading that book, probably not. The system is set up in a way that it cannot be changed, and despite what people say or think or feel, they don't have the power to do anything but scream.
in 2000 (and numbers have gotten worse):
the top 10% of the population owned 71% of the nations wealth
(and the top 1% owned 38% of the nations wealth)
meanwhile
the bottom 40% (middle class and lower class) owned less than 1% of the nations wealth.
trying changing those numbers - won't happen.

Yes, there are already countries were much of the population is disenfranchised by those with more economic power. It tends to perpetuate the relative status of both groups. College graduates will run the country to their liking and impose penalties and provide disincentives to the less educated, who will be, in reality, second class citizens.
CoachD, I have to say I'm not surprised by a 2011 Democrat being in favor of more rewards for the elites in society and less opportunity for those with less education, money, or status in your view. Forty years ago, that kind of thinking was the opposite of Democrats thought. It was the party of ordinary people back then. Now, the Democratic party is the party of those receiving government handouts and those who skim that tax money for their own gain before distributing it.
The ordinary working person is being driven out of the Democratic party by those who see their own gain in the subjugation of people into lower classes. That used to be a Republican point of view, but times are changing. Still there seems to be no shortage of people, such as yourself, who see wisdom in reconfiguring the country in such a way that others lose some of their rights and you keep all of yours.
This current U.S. government is worse and more oppressive than the British monarchy we gained our independence from. Pathetically, the current generation of Americans is complacent, having lost the spirit of individualism and self-reliance and embraced an entitlement mentality.
Hey Thomas Paine, it was never your country to begin with. Sit you slave owning a$$ down and shut up!
Hey jackass, guess what. Thomas Paine was an atheist and a communist before atheists and communists existed. He would likely be too liberal to be voted into office if he ran today in Nancy Pelosi's district. He was jailed during in France during the French Revolution for being too radical. AND he wasn't American.

You are one sorely misinformed SOB.
Thomas Paine was a deist, not an atheist.
Yeah, you know, it's kind of funny that any left of center person could be accused of making comments that promote "class warfare" when the gap between the top and the bottom is far more vast than it's been at any time in my lifetime.
then go back to England where you belong you smelly European lover.
