Is there any authority on the best conversion calculator out there? They vary widely. I know one of the general approximations people often use a 1.08 multiple. But there seems to be some disagreement. For instance, depending on who you ask:
4:00 in the 1500 is worth:
1.08 factor: 4:19.2
Purdy: 4:20.2
Milesplit: 4:19.13
MacMillan: 4:18.5
3:50 in the 1500 is worth:
1.08 factor: 4:08.4
Purdy: 4:09.32
Milesplit: 4:08.33
MacMillan: 4:07.7
The 4 minute mile equivalent is
1.08 factor: 3:42.22
Purdy: 3:41.44
Milesplit: 3:42.29
MacMillan: 3:42.9
So what say you, letsrun?
