What will everyone do now to get their dose of hard nosed fair and balanced political commentary?

That is meant to say Olbermann
Is it the work of Comcast? I never did like them
I hate all political shows, rush, hannity, o'reilly but I hated olbermann the most. On the 10th anniversary of sports center he was the only anchor not invited back, that pretty much sums up olbermann in a nutshell, no one likes him.

His political commentary was admittedly not 'fair' and clearly slanted to one end of the political spectrum. As several articles on his leaving have noted, it may be difficult to get a new job on another network as FOX leans right while CNN has aimed to maintain a nonbiased news programming. Meanwhile NBC,CBS, and ABC are now only a shell of what they once were in terms of journalistic broadcasting and are essentially 90% advertisemnt, sport, and sitcom.
Its funny you say Olbermann was clearly slanted but Fox News is only "leaning" right

Why is the dude so angry and bitter? It doesn't seem like an act. Did his mom not hug him when he was a child?
Do you think fox would ever have a problem with some one being biased in coverage?
An entertainment columnist did an analysis of Olberman v. O'Reilly and found that although both were biased themselves (which is okay since they are OPINION commentators and not reporters), O'Reilly had a liberal on during almost every segment and Olberman almost never had an opposing view on his show.
His moronic rant on the evening of the Tuscon shootings was offensive to anyone with a shred of intellectual honesty, even if hard-core liberal. That was most likely the final straw. He is the most abrasive, hateful person on the air, ironically accusing those he attacks of exactly what he spews.

You were pretty accurate except for this. Which is a LONG way from the truth.

O'Reilly bullies and controls the mic for these guests. Rarely can a guest engage in a fair debate while on his show.
I think that it's to our peril as a nation that balanced discussion and debate has faded. It's been replaced by vitriol like that of middle eastern nations. To question the Right has become synonymous with non-patriotic behavior.
Olberman took great risk carrying the Left side. As the Right became more fanatic and unchecked he drifted too far. He became an easy target and lost his way IMO.
I have heard that Olbermann has a contract that is worth $8 million per year with MSNBC. If that is true, he is lucky because he is in the middle of a four-year contract that ends in two years. If they have to pay out the rest of his contract, that's $16 million to go home and do nothing. Not a bad deal.

Not when O'Reilly's rerun draws twice as many people as Olbermann can draw live.

Well said. Olberman ratched up the intensity and anger as the Bush administration became further ridiculous. For the longest time he was the lone person on TV reflecting what so many were feeling.
All pundits are media clowns who are paid to stir up shit on TV.
Very true. He was our voice in the days when all three branches of government believed in torture, in preemptive warfare, in runaway secrecy and unaccountability. I'll miss him, but I'm fairly sure he won't be gone too long. In the mean time, we still have Rachel and others.
Yes, I am grateful to Olberman for having led our country back to greatness.
Where is "Tuscon"? How come there was nothing on the news about a Tuscon shooting?
