Afraid not. He'll either be below or above his best. The odds of him being precisely at his best aren't great. Wish the guy well, though.

Why hasn't he retired yet? Ritz and Webb seem healthier than he is.

If at some point he is below his previous best and then later he is above his previous best then somewhere in between he must have been precisely at his previous best. Simple mathematics.
Still, the odds are that he will never be quite as good again. Everyone goes downhill eventually.
...but he said back in January (2010) that he wasn't going to do any more Championship races for World Cross
