I'm a Biology major taking a graduate level seminar class that's only worth 1 credit. It's pretty easy; we mostly just read papers and then discuss them during our 1 hour meeting time each week. However, I'm already quite busy and this class is during an inconvenient time for me (it fills a one hour time slot which would be my only break during a 6 hour block, I'm paying for it, I don't actually need it, and it's mostly about plant ecology whereas I'm more on the Zoology end of Biology. I'm kind of interested in the subject, and the fact that it is a little outside my main area of study is kind of cool, but I just don't know if it's really worth it.
Is there any point to taking a class you don't need?
