And as for government healthcare, the Per patient Cost of care of Medicaid has gone up a GREATER percentage than the amount that insurance has gone up since the late 1970s.

Federal Regulators increased competition after Clinton's Telecomm Reform Act of 1996 broke up the AT&T Baby Bells.

The same is happening this very minute as Federal Regulators are empowered by Obama's Health Care Reform Law to act of behalf of the American people.

The Dept of HHS is now breaking up the stranglehold that the HMOs, PPOs and Health Insurance companies have had on the American people. They are being forced to become public utilities regulated the same as telecomm and airlines.

Hell, more like 30. That's how Ross Perot made his billions was doing medical record processing for state and federal agencies. All the insurance companies have been data mining this data for years and using the data to determine which claims to process, what types of conditions to fight, and to identify regional trends in treatment.

The feds are taking data they already have and finally starting to do what they should have been doing 15 years ago, which is the same thing every insurance company is doing today.

That was done with Cobol back in the day. The new system is done with Java EE. this time the feds have the legal right to collect real-time transactions from every doctor, clinic, hospital, pharmacy, dentist, shrink, etc. in the nation. The HHS system is more complex and 100 times the capacity than the DHS Terrorism database.

No, now the feds can look at the trends in treatment in hospitals and doctors the same information insurance companies have. Insurance companies have "regulated" doctors and hospitals for years. Medicare attempted to do the same thing but with a fraction of the information insurance companies had, so they failed pretty badly.
