His ban ends May 2. Will we see him appear out of no where again this summer?

hopefully hes sick
prob not
If the rules say he can run and he is in shape and wants to run I guess we will see him.
I figure Bahrain would be OK with it.
Probably won't see him until the world champs.
He will run one race prior to Worlds to qualify and then show up in fantastic race shape.

Hahahaha it took a few seconds to realize that he was not, in fact, banned from the messageboard.

OK let me get this straight: He "won" the Olympics, got caught, and not even 3 years later he is cleared to go again? Is this a joke?
Ban for EPO is two years.
imagine the response on the message boards if he runs 2 races a qualifier in both the 1500 and 5k and then he wins both races at worlds, then he does not race anymore in 2011, and then in 2012 he runs 3 races to qualify the 800, 1500, 5k and then runs all 3 races at the 2012 london olympics all in world record time. and then like flojo decades before he announces that having won 3 golds in world record time that nothing could ever top that and that he is retiring immediately.
and he then gets a job going to schools talking about how evil PED's are.
that would be hilarious.

It would be even better if he found himself in an early grave too.
i believe rule is that if you have served a ban of 6/12 or more, you are not eligible for next cycle of games, so that means no london for him, but he woud be eligible for '16

If he pulled that off I would give him huge props tbh.
wow. doug, congratulations, your first productive post ever on letsrun. no ethio slobbering, no "inside" info, no defending lamo's. good job, keep it up please.
Correct. Just like Merritt, he would be eligible for worlds this summer, but not the olympics next summer.

Yes, that is what Lashawn Merritt is facing, too.
We will see if that new rule holds up as athletes are expected to appeal under the basis that they already served the time period for their suspension.
Merritt was fighting his two year suspension but accepted it initially under the terms that it was two years from the violation and he could return to competition afterwards.
Adding this rule after an athlete has been given suspension terms may be difficult to uphold.
Maybe anyone caught form now forward would have to miss the next Olympics but those caught before the new rule may have a possible opening.
missing 1 olympics is not that big a deal, remember besides the olympics the world champs has basically the same competition, the same people they would race in the olympics they would basically race the same people at zurich and several other big meets.
I hope we see him again. I love that guy.
