I use the drink all the time and less often the chews, think they're great, and some serious runners I know (much better than me) swear by FRS.
What is it supposed to do?
don't feed the troll. def an intern from FRS using multiple handles
The magic ingredient is Quercitin, which you can read about here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quercetin
. It's a high potent antioxidant that supposedly helps you recover from the demands of training more quickly. Included in the formulation are a few more vitamins, not surprisingly including B6 and B12 since this is supposed to help with energy.
I take it when my mileage increases, but I really don't know if it improves my fitness or not. I say the same thing about the daily vitamins I take, regardless of mileage, but I keep taking them, too.
When FRS came out, quercitin was a novel ingredient. Nowadays you can find quercitin supplements, which I suppose I should look into taking instead of FRS, which would save me some money plus I already take a B complex every day anyway.
The powders don't dissolve well. If you're going to try it, I'd recommend the concentrate and the chews.
Is that a mountain climber in the picture? I've always wanted to be an Alpinist. Maybe I will start chewing these things.
I tried some of the chews at a race and they were disgusting. No way would I ever pay for them.

Agreed. They are just awful. And overpriced.

I like the pomegranat blueberry chews. But then again I gargle with Listerine, too.
