I got one for Christmas and have been having lots of fun wiith it.
I already do weights, both for general conditioning and to develop max power in running muscles. I got it for a fallback as I often cannot get to the gym; but I like the exercises so much I've started using it more often than expected.
It's great to take to the track and use straight after an interval workout. Weights make me sore anyway so are best phased after a hard workout to get the maximum recovery, but it was never feasible to hit the gym after an evening track workout. I just take it with me and get in 15min of leg strength work after my reps. When track season is approaching I'm going to try for 2-3 circuits per week on top of my hills as part of a 'strength-endurance' month.
For leg strength/power, your ultimate goal should be to build up to single-leg box squats with no support; just as good as squatting your bodyweight, but safer. The TRX helps build to this by giving you a little support and letting you do single-leg exercises. There are LOTS squat variations: facing towards, facing away with rear foot in TRX, face away and jump for explosive power. These all feel far more useful to me than barbell work - more likely to cross over to running. Just don't forget that you can also do non-TRX stuff too - step-ups, jump squats.
TRX Crunch, TRX Atomic Pushup and TRX Hamstring Curl are all really good as flexion is part of the running cycle, but hardly ever gets trained in the gym. I have these in my circuit and am building up the reps.
TRX Sprinter Starts are fun and sound running-related although I am not sure if they will improve my 100m start ;-)
There is another one that feels great but I have no idea what to call it: Pushup position, feet suspended, doing a running action with alternate leg thrusts
Finally, this is a very famous strength coach sharing some of his..

Would love to hear from anyone else using these.
Thanks for the infomercial. You are kidding that spending $200 for some straps will be of any help. Go dig some ditches or cut some wood for a real "man's" workout. What a waste for anyone serious about getting better and faster in track.
or just go to the hardware store and make your own. cheaper. and use the savings for running shoes and beer.
