How many of you think that once a woman leaves you it's time to say so be it and let bygones be bygones? Let's assume that you were in love for many years, THOUGHT the girl was in love too, but she ended it on ambiguous terms.
I have the choice to cut the cord completely with her and stay attached as a friend. After six months being apart, her calls are becoming less frequent and the distance seems to be growing. I'm trying to be a good friend by calling and staying in touch but it's hard being ignored when she doesn't return my calls or texts.
It's so easy for two people to drift apart, especially when both people in the relationship "give up." The argument that by letting go she'll come back is hard to believe. I get the impression that's exactly what she wants.
But, what if? That's the question that keeps me up at night. What if she's just confused? If I walk out on us now, there won't be anything left to come back to. She'll think, "you see, he forgot about me already, it wasn't meant to be."
Do I have guilt trip issues? Other issues? It would help if some of you share both positive and negative experiences.
I'm 26 years old and she was the love of my life ( 4 years)...I'd hate to spend the next 26 years wondering what would have happened had I just persisted. But is that being selfish?
