Here are the details:
1.) I have friends.
2.) One of said friends is in a work bet to beat a mouthy 28 yr old in a 400m race.
3.) He needs your help.
Friend is 34 and after taking the bet, tested himself and ran a 1.07.8. The 28 yr old swears he can run a 1.02 and beat him - including giving Friend a generous 34m start, one for each year of his ancient self.
The question is how best to train and how best to manage the race? More deets:
1.) The race is Jan 28th
2.) The 28 yr old is 5'7, 180, former cornerback at Ivy League U and track runner in high school. Fastest 400M time - 50.9 - 10 yrs ago. He's in shape but has not been training for the race.
3.) Friend is 6'0, 205, former swimmer - no experience running the 400. Fastest time from last week.
4.) Friend's Boss got word and is now in the race. Michael Scott is 41 yrs old, 5'11, 175. Skinny and quick - some High School experience in running the 400. Naturally, he'll have a 41M head start.
5.) There will be a Flip Video recording it for posterity.
6.) $100 and bragging rights are on the line.
So what should Friend do next week? Wejo says with training, Friend can win and Michael Scott will be blown out of the water. Wejo also suggests he save himself then go all out at the end.
Now your turn.
