How do you survive?
No Television, but I use the PlayStation for Netflix and watching movies, and obviously playing games. But I don't have any form of cable. I just go to a Sports bar to watch games...
But I think you were probably asking about who doesn't own a television completely. I think a lot of people do what I do nowadays.

Yep, similar situation here. My roommate occupies the TV at least 6 hours a day, and I usually sit down and watch Tosh.O with him or something, but other than I don't touch the thing. I have a cell phone but avoid using it (most days I don't use it at all).
I think there was a thread a while back about facebook and how everyone was on it where someone said they weren't on facebook nor did they own a cell phone. Not sure if they had a TV.

No TV, no cell. I hate TV and I hate talking on the phone.

Actually, I do almost all my non-face to face communication via email or IM/texting.

You are schizo.
no tv
no cell phone
no cordless phone
no microwave
i use nettalk through broadband for phone
I don't watch TV, but am an internet addict.
To refer back to another thread about living in a cabin in the woods, I used to not have cable or internet.
I did have a cell phone, but it didn't work from my cottage. I only had to go about half a mile for it to work though.
I had a TV that got some broadcast stations. They weren't super clear, but it was nice to be able to check the weather, etc. I had a radio too.
At work I had access to a computer, and a few days a week I would stay an hour or so late to keep on top of news, communicating with friends since I was out of cell phone range, and stuff like that. On occasion I would enjoy a lazy weekend day in my lab screwing around on the computer.
Now I have cable, computer, cell phone, and live a little closer to civilization, though still in a rural area. I definitely miss being able to disconnect, and still try to once in a while. I think that knowing I lived for so long without it lets me turn it all off when I need to get things done.
i haven't had a tv in three and a half years. don't miss it. when i stay with my parents and try to watch tv, i can't watch for more than ten minutes. despite the fact that they have one of the most comprehensive cable packages available, literally everything seems quite dumb/boring to me..
that said, i occasionally watch one or two shows online.
my reliability on my cell phone, on the other hand, has increased exponentially since i got an iphone. when i first got one in '04, i hardly took it out of my room with me.
I've had 2 nettalk devices for a few months, and it's great.
The landline is history.
I just got an announcement a few minutes ago that it's not being sold by Walmart. I've not checked into their pricing but it was already pretty good.

No television. No channels. No nothing. What's to miss? Middlebrow, mediocre American culture?
No landline.
iPhone.
MacBook Pro with highspeed wifi.
What else do ya need?
Even though I live in a condo and pay for a full cable package, I gave away my TV some time ago.
Had a huge flat panel, with digital was just the same crap in HD. I now go the common room once a week with my wife to watch Top Chef for an hour.
TV is so 20th century. Track and other athletics I now watch on the web. TV "programming" is crap. "Local news" is a joke.
Weather? Look outside.
L.A. car chases in real-time? Who the F cares?
No TV here, and I only have Facebook because my fiance made me sign up so that it would show us as "engaged." I never check facebook, ever--I hate the thing.
I have a GoPhone from Wal-Mart that I got for $25--it has lasted two years and my phone bill is $6 a month (no texting).
How do I survive? Well, I am in grad school so that takes up a lot of my time, and the other free time I may have is spent online, running, and reading.

Same here, except my roommate has a television here. We used to watch The Office and now play Mario Kart on occasion.
In I think 2001 and 2002 I didn't have TV or internet in my house. Didn't have a cell phone either. I thought I was pretty cool at the time but it was completely miserable at times to be honest!
Not having TV means about 1/10th what it meant before everyone had internet. Heck, I wonder if you took a poll of a couple thousand people and asked if they had to give up either internet at their house or tv what percent would give up what? I would take internet for sure.
