Memphis, TN high school boasts 90 pregnant girls!

Good God those southerners are so freaking stupid.

The county my family moved away from had the highest unemployment rate and the highest teen pregnancy rate in that particular state. I bet there is some correlation with the two. Also these were two of the reasons we chose to move.

So if you're gay in the south, you will be ridiculed (or possibly beaten) for disobeying the word of God, but apparently getting knocked up at 17 is no big deal. Doesn't the Bible say anything about the latter issue?

A month or so there was a news story here in the Seattle area about Stanwood high school, where about 50 high school students were undergoing rehab for heroin addiction.

This is a fun hypothetical question, would you rather your 16 year old daughter be pregnant or addicted to heroin or meth? I'd hope for the drugs.

17 year olds get knocked up in the Bible all the time.

Please keep in mind how uh, "dark" Memphis is. This problem isn't a southern issue. It's a black issue.

why do we have to choose between pregnancy and drug addiction? the whole situation is ridiculous. Now we have to worry about 90 babies, if each "girl" gives birth to a single child, being raised by babies, uneducated and depending on the state (us) to feed and clothe them. ugh, enough!

Whenever anyone tells me they are against homosexuality because of what the Bible says, I ask them their views on premarital sex and divorce. Very quickly do they realize that their argument on homosexuals doesn't hold up.

Haven't had that happen yet, but I suppose I would at least respect the fact that they are consistent in their rigid interpretation of the Bible.

We must live in very different areas because I have yet to hear a religious person be ok with premarital sex.

I know a couple priests who are okay with it actually. I even know a priest who supports Roe v. Wade.
