A month or so there was a news story here in the Seattle area about Stanwood high school, where about 50 high school students were undergoing rehab for heroin addiction.
Now we've got an indication of the versatility of today's high schools--a school in Memphis has 90 students who are either pregnant or have had a baby this year. The story says that it's about 20 percent of the female students. Presumably the rate is not the same throughout all 4 years of school, or the overall pregancy rate would be 80 percent at graduation. (of course that assumess 100% grad rate, which would doubtless be way off).
I say that if they get to 100, all students should get free Big Macs.
