Any good information on how low ferritin levels affect the body's ability to adapt to training. I understand that it can hinder performance but was wondering wether it was possible to still gain fitness.....
In other words, let's say you are a 16:00 5k runner and due to low iron you are running 17:00 or so...but continue to base train and take iron....2-3 months later your iron is back to normal....is it possible for you to progress general aerobic fitness over those 2-3 months so that you are 15:45 runner...or is the best case scenario just get back to where you were?
