Has anyone else ever noticed how some actors play the same characters in every moive they star in? Here's a few examples I can thinnk of.
Will Ferrell-always plays loveable funny guy.
Jason Statham-plays the same gritty tough guy in every movie.
Jack Black-never really plays any characters in movies. He just more or less plays Jack Black in every movie.
Anyone else have any ideas of other actors like this?
Adam Sandler.
It is basically the exact same character in a somewhat new setting. Even his friends are the same. The movies just get worse and worse.

Chris Cooper- Overbearing Hard-ass, usually a father

Uptight bitch involved in a news show as either a reporter or producer. Falls in love.
Nicolas Cage plays the guy who happens to get caught up in a situation and then saves the day.
Vince Vaughn is the same uptight guy with the same mannerisms in every movie.
Scarlet Johannson plays the hot blonde with big boobs.
Humphrey Bogart - cynical, worldly-wise tough guy, does The Right Thing in spite of himself.
Jennifer Aniston--same character, and even the same hairstyle in every flick.
Seth Rogen always plays a foul-mouthed stoner.
Jim Carey = high strung contortionist on speed.
Ray Romano = whiny momma's boy
Ben Stiller = he actually plays two types of characters which means he has some range compared to some other people. He always place oblivious dullards or the put-upon straight-man.
Denzel Washington with the exception of Training Days
Ashley Judd-that's why she isn't getting any roles, she's done the same movie 16 times.
Clint Eastwood.
Thread over. He never played a character. He was always just Clint Eastwood.

I don't agree about Chris Cooper at all. In fact, he's such a chameleon that if you go back and see certain films, you'd be amazed to find that the guy in them was him.
Meg Ryan comes to mind. I guess her last hit was "Kate and Leopold." It was on cable recently, and while the other actors were trying for something fresh, her little glances and reactions were precisely the same ones I'd seen at least five times before.
Jack Nicholson. Yeah, he's cool as shit but I'm bored with him. Don't know why he's so revered.
Most versatile actor IMHO is Dustin Hoffman.

I would disagree with Ben Stiller. His characters in Zoolander, Starsky and Hutch, Dodgeball, Meet the Parents, and The Heartbreak Kid were all quite different. Those are just some of his movies I thought of off the top of my head.
Nicholas Cage and Denzel Washington were the two that immediately came to mind. DW annoys the crap out of me because he delivers his lines in the exact same manner in every movie. Cage just sucks all around.
Mark Wahlberg is the same in every movie.
