Long story short, went 8 weeks without running because of AT. Came back and did some very easy mileage for two weeks but was still having some weird swelling, burning, redness in my lower leg. Got an MRI and showed that my achilles is perfectly fine but the doctor found that I have a Level 1 stress fracture forming in my heel(has not actually become a fracture yet, considered a "stress reaction")!
Doctor says i've now got 2 weeks in the boot, 2 weeks of cross training without the boot, and then I can start running again. So, for those who have had one or both of these, how did you go about getting back into running? How little mileage did you start out with?
