Hello,
Greg Fried, an outstanding teacher, track and x-country coach from Roslyn High, Manhasset and Wheatley school districts in Nassau County, Long Island/NY for over 40 years passed away from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in Nov 2010. Dad's students, athletes and peer coaches were a huge part of his life. You all brought him joy and satisfaction from your personal and athletic growth through hard work and dedication. Please consider clicking the link and donating to the Walk to Defeat ALS occurring 4/2/11 in RTP, North Carolina. I will be walking with my wife and 4 children, the youngest of which (7 weeks) is named after dad (Mia Grace). If you have contacts from your days at Roslyn, Manhasset and Wheatley or with Nassau County track and Roslyn teachers, please forward this mail to them. I appreciate this tremendously. The act of giving to help others afflicted with this disease brings some level of comfort and the tough times since dad was diagnosed only Sept, 2010.

Also, please be aware there is some discussion to rename the annual Roslyn High School booster 5k run to 'GREG's RUN'. I invite you to please contact the athletic director (Dawn Cerrone) at Roslyn with your support for this initiative.
The Fried family thanks you.
