What is the most effective way to ice a stress reaction (lvl 1) in the calcaneius (heel)? Should I fill a bucket with ice? Ice massage with dixie cup? Just a bag of ice? And for how long and how many times per day? I just was diagnosed with one after getting an mri for a possible infection/blood clot/achilles problem and the doctor found it.
So, how would I go about preventing it later on? Should i go with a minimalist approach? I dont believe that I am a heel striker, more a midfoot guy. From pictures, I have noticed that later on in races that I do heel strike a little bit.
