all summer I ran 4x300 three times a week at about 55 seconds. When I run on a treadmill occasionally in the winter, I generally do 4x1 minute with the speed set at 10.0. That would be six-minute mile pace. My 300s in the summer were at roughly five-minute pace. The effort for each feels about the same. I use several different treadmills at the YMCA, so it isn't that I'm just using one with a faulty pace- reader. So it seems to me that a six-minute pace on a treadmill feels like a five-minute pace on the track. Any theories?
