I'm not in shape atm, I could probably run a 6 min mile but i haven't exercised for around a year.
I live in a city so its hard for me to find places to run. I have a stationary bike but i've heard about this P90X program.
Many Thanks

P90X is bad for runners
No. p90x is a good strength program, a nice work out, but there's not enough aerobic work to get you sub-6.
Thanks, I'll train on the bike then.
if you want to train to run faster, why don't you just practice running faster. Makes sense to me...
P90X does little for runners, just bulks you up a bit. Try Insanity it's beneficial to aerobic athletes.
Have any runners on letsrun gone through p90x? What results did you get/would you recommend it to others?
I did a round of the P90X lean program this summer while running 40-50 mpw to get ready for a fall marathon. My core strength is the best it has ever been and I dropped 20 pounds, 2 inches from my waist, and 2 inches from my quads and biceps. I'm actually starting another round this week. I would drop their aerobic days and stick with the strength/flexibility days (yoga and all that other shit). If you go light weights, you won't bulk up. Good luck and f*** off.
i just got p90x, just waiting for my pullup bar to come in the mail tomorrow to start the program. i'm way excited. i did a couple of the ab workouts already and its pretty sweet. i don't think it would help at all with the aerobic side of running but strength is very important in running performance and injury prevention so i think it's definitely good for runners.
LOL, i seriously doubt you can run a mile in 6 minutes considering you haven't exercised in a year. get real dude.
