I have a date with a girl in a few days, but this afternoon while I was out on my run, I bumped into her and immediately noticed she was wearing Vibram five fingers. I somehow managed to prevent myself from starting an argument with her about it, but now I am afraid that I will never get the thought of her wearing those ridiculous things out of my head. Should I just cancel now? It is very likely that I will make a scene at the restaurant over them if I don't.

You should definitely have the date, in hopes of convincing of the terrible nature of the five fingers, but I have a sneaking suspicion that you made this whole situation up just for some letsrun fun.
Yesterday I was in Wal Mart. There was a dude in line in front of me. He had like 6 kids, and two women - I'm guessing they were both his wives. One of the wives had on Vibrams. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

The only "restaurant" you will be going to is your mom's dining room, and the only "scene" that will happen is your dad telling you to get a job and wear g*dd*mn real shoes like a man. Who cares? She may just think they look "cool" or "cute". She may not even run in them at all.
As a general rule, wait until you get laid first, then use the issue as an excuse to drop her IF she is a bad lay.
