only if God has been giving Hall good training and says to go for it.
This will truly be a measure of how his self coaching is working. Of course, if he run a 1:05 or something, he can just say that it was part of his training. Which would suck, becuase we hardly ever seen him run as it is.
he is trying to go back to what he knows - he will train "harder" than the previous Houston attempt, will likely come up short and will begin the slow downward spiral to mediocrity. toward the end, he will give another coach a try ... probably someone like the son of hud in an attempt to pull out but this will likely only be a rest stop on the way down.
I just saw this as well. Glad I'm going to be down there to see him run!
i'd be surprised if his best days r not behind him. it was fun while it lasted, Mr. Hall.
Why is everybody ready to pounce and kick him while he is down? Why is everybody ready to pronounce him finished?
He will run well.

I really don't see how this will tell us much about his new training program. He only switched coaches a few months ago and real results from the switch won't be evident for a while.

Not on that course...
I'll take bets on the odds of 25 to 1 that Ryan Hall has discovered himself in this new training regiment and will break his person best he set last year. Any takers?

Because it kills them they cannot keep Ryan Hall's half marathon pace for an 800 all-out.
has the course changed from when he broke the record there in 2007? Have they tweaked it for the trials?
Ryan Hall crushed the AR in the half, has the fastest debut marathon of an American, has the fastest Boston time of an American and is the third fastest non-African born marathoner. Anyone who compares this with Dean K has no clue about pro marathoning.
I would think that letsrun would shower the guy with praise for coming to a US championship instead of going to a cushy RnR appearance fee half marathon "race"(/tempo run) against a field of B-team Kenyans. Hall will have to run sub 62 to win in Houston.
I think this may be the rebirth for Hall. Since the AR, he has stayed away from the half champs in favor of his hyper-specific anal retentive training regimine under Mahon. Hopefully, we will see a reinvigorated Hall who races more and puts stale training patterns behind.
Yea, that RnR race in September was full of B-level Kenyans that stomped all over the golden boy.
