You can just call yesterdays race a "Rupp Anomaly"

Yeah he got second in the JV race, thats like being the second smartest retard in the room full of retards. It means nothing.
Please give us a list of US runners who would have done better.
Prima donnas don't run 13:07 or 27:10 because it takes a world of drudgery and hurt to get through to make it happen.
Anyone who thinks Rupp is not one tough S.O.B. doesn't have a clue.
well, there's Ritz for one
Post of the day! I don't care for Rupp and his handlers, but you nailed it.
Solinsky, Ritz, Webb, Teg too
Rupp Cert. Team - No one appointed you to anything, you aren't on that team or any other concerning pro running. You are simply a jealous little loser.
Rupp is the man.
Nice guy
Fast as hell
Taking every possible opportunity to improve himself, just like anyone else would. No one here would turn down any Nike funding or opportunity but they would criticizing someone else for taking it, pathetic.
Rupp is the most consistent U.S. high-level runner, any situation.
Bauhs is right. A single case invalidates the universal rule that a course must be Rupp certified (equals flat and smooth like a track, no inclement weather, no pollution, etc.) for Rupp to run it.
I'm confused.. What did Bauhs say?
What is there about Rupp that earns being called a "prima donna?" Please, I'd like some specifics here.

If you are asking why folks call him this that is pretty easy to answer (though I won't answer in this note).
If you are asking what factually justifies such a label the answer is nothing.
Come on, folks. Please don't feed the troll!
I watched the race - first time I'd seen Rupp run.
First of all, hats off to Rupp and all the others for coming over and doing a real man's race: snow, ice and 3 killer hills - well before Oregon breakfast time too. I've trained around there and I don't think you can tell from the TV just how steep those hills are. He did great.
Mo Farah was on fire. He's 10sec faster over 5000, 20 slower over 10000, so they rank the same on paper. But he's now a double European champ and fired up, and nobody was going to catch him on his home turf.
Was Rupp the only one wearing full-tights? I mean some women went hardcore with bunhuggers and even the Africans were wearing shorts.

No.
I can't throw my wife off the TV to double-check now, but he was the only one in full tights near the front. The rest mostly went for long tight shorts to just above the knee. The ones with brains had long sleeved tops too, and there were a lot of hats and gloves. A few mad Brits were out in nothing but shorts+vest (that means "singlet" in Brit) but I think they froze and died early.
In the 4.2k race, most of the Africans had tights on. I would have, but I'm not Scottish...
I don't know, but I enjoy that they spelled "letsrun" incorrectly in the quote on the main page. Classic.
