I have an mp3 audio file that is around 100mb. Anyone know of a simple way to reduce the size of the file so I can attach it in an email? It's just audio of a speech so it doesn't need to be great sound quality.
Thanks for any replies.

Chances of getting a 100mb file down to normal email limits (between 5-10mb on most ISP's) are pretty slim. A good utlity, explained in the following link, is Audacity. Actually, you can do a lot of sweet stuff with Audacity.

If you can't get it down to your ISP sizes, try this service.
Or host it on your machine as a web server long enough for someone to download then turn off your web server.
Sign up for a free Dropbox account and download their free software.
Send your friend an invite to get their own free Dropbox account, download software, etc. Have them let you know what username they used (you don't need their password)
Create a sub-folder within your My Dropbox folder called "Share With Friend" or whatever, and on Dropbox's web site, designate that folder as to be shared with the friend's username.
Stick the file in your My Dropbox folder, within the subfolder you've given your friend access to.
In a few minutes (depending on internet connection speed) you'll both have access to identical copies of whatever's in the "share with friend" folder. They can stick stuff in there for you, or vice versa.
I use the above trick with multiple shared folders with multiple friends all over the world to exchange much larger audio files (not for piracy - I own a record label) and it's fantastic.
Seconded. I share massive Garageband files with my little brother that way. Dropbox is awesome.
