What is the best neutral Brooks shoe and best Brooks flat?
I have typically run in Wave Riders or Pegasus and raced in the XC flat from Nike.
Any help would be appreciated.

Defyance 3 is like the wave Rider. I think all brooks flats are pretty bad, I think I had a pair of T5s (was that it?) That weren't terrible..

"Best" is subjective of course but I currently run in the Wave Rider, Wave Precision, Brooks Launch and Brooks T6.
I have tried the Wave Ronin but still give the edge to the T6.
Launch or Green Silence. Don't know about flats, although Green Silence is pretty close to a flat.
Misread the title as "Book recommendations"
The Launch is their best neutral training shoe. Wait until the T7 comes out to get their flat, it should be out in a couple weeks.
Launch
best neutral shoe by far - BROOKS LAUNCH
a pretty good neutral shoe if you need a little more - BROOKS GHOST 3
best flat - BROOKS T6 RACER
The Launch is a good shoe, although it fits into a bit of a weird spot on the "continuum" of shoes. It's lighter than most regular training shoes, but it is heavier, and more importantly, "spongier", than most flats or "minimalist" shoes. Depending on your intended goal with it, this could be a good thing or a bad thing. It's a good lightweight trainer, which some guys could run in every day. On the other hand, it's not quite as responsive as I'd like in a long-distance racer, so I would step up to a "faster" shoe for that purpose.
Neutral Training shoes: Launch (lighter) or Ghost 3 (more cushion).
Racing shoes: T7 coming out soon...which is improved from the T6. That would be a flat. The Green Silence compares more to something like the Nike Lunar Racer. The Green Silence fits a little differently so as always its best to try them on in persons (sometimes there is a 0.5 size difference). Depends on the shape of your foot to some degree.
I like the Green Silence the best and have raced the half marathon and marathon in them.
I'm going with the Ghost on this one. I've got probably 700-800 miles on mine and they still feel great. They aren't the lightest shoe but they are plenty responsive and fit very well.
