So I gave some blood today for testing. It wasn't as much as you give when donating, but still a significant amount, enough so that I passed out and feel extremely weak all day.
My question is how will this effect training? Obviously giving blood hinders performance for several weeks as you return to normal RBC and hemoglobin levels. But I am not seriously competing until middle of indoor, so about 5 weeks. So for the next few weeks I assume training will be more difficult, but wouldn't I experience some sort of benefit similar to training at altitude after I return to normal levels?
