Laura Hillenbrand's most recent book "Unbroken", on American Louis Zamperini (1936 Olympian) is absolutely phenomenal. Anybody who enjoys running and history has to read this book. It tells a great story of young Zamperini who arguably became America's best runner in the late 1930s and had lots of potential until WWII broke out. Some believe he could have been the first sub 4 miler if not for the war. It then tells the story of how he entered the war and the enormous barriers he conquered to stay alive.
