Compression shorts - crotch seam concern

Additional criteria: looking for a long compression short. 9". The UA Coldgear is 7" and it looks like it has a center crotch seam.

I haven't had any chafing or other issues since I started wearing Zensah compression shorts. Haven't tried any of the other brands you mention.

I use the CW-X and chafing with the seams is a problem unless I wear a third sock (obviously I'm a dude) I only use them when it cold out so its not a problem, other compression shorts/tights with center seams would likely do the same

I bought some Sugoi shorts, the jack short, and they felt unbelievable, but they were too short. I looked like a Nancy, so I gave them to my wife.

The only other compression shorts I have ever liked was the Nike Pro basketball compression short. I have to wear underwear under it though, but it NEVER chafes.

Haven't tried the Nike Pro-Core, but I get shorts with a built in compression liner and I've started just getting Nike shorts because the compression liner is actually cut right and is much more comfortable that the other brands I've got, so based on that I'd say that Nike knows how to make compression shorts.

For the winter, I've got some windblocking compression shorts from Brooks and they're also good. They're snug but don't really compress much.

I bought the Nike Pro Core Long. $30 - less than half the cost of the CW-X Pro. Ran with them yesterday at about 20 F, under running pants. What a difference - actually felt a bit too warm at the end, in spite of being fairly thin. Should have tried something like this a long time ago ... I've had tight hamstrings for years.

I run exclusively in the CW-X Pro short year-round and have never had a problem with the crotch seam. Just my two cents.
