The schools are not pro teams so it deosn't matter how much they are paid. There should be an NCAA brackets with 11 Conference Champs and one Open Champion for teams that are not in a conference. The 12 Conf Champs should then play four rounds in December to determine the NCAA National Champion on New Year's day. All DI-A teams may still play one bowl game each, whether they were part of the brackets or not. The bowls are not governed by the NCAA.
I know the BSC bowl games score $180,000,000 total and I think this might be a trick question. Bolt stands to make $12 million a year and Diamond League money plus all others. Good question, I need to think about this more.
How much would 12 teams playing a 4 week, 11 game NCAA brackets make ? More than $180M ? Plus nobody I've ever met wants to get rid of the bowl games. Everyone loves the bowl game tradition. But we still must have to have a real NCAA DI-A champion.
So in other words, five games trump a years worth of meets ans races.
An NCAA NC would make $1B easy. It would be bigger than the Super Bowl, World Series, and Nathan's Hot Dog eating.
