How is this impressive?
A: He should just donate that money. It's 15k, which isn't a whole lot in the world of Non-Profit donations.
B: I run a half-marathon or 5 times a week in training, as do most successful long-distance runners that run 100+ as part of their regimine. All this guy is doing is changing the location once a month for 10 months.
Maybe I'm missing something?
A: I guarantee you I wouldn't be able to straight up give away $15k. The guy is trying to do his part, and if he wants to do it by a little feat of physical fitness while living it up in 10 countries, so be it. More power to him.
B: So? What he's doing is being recognized by several events, which allows him to get the money. Any joe blow could say he runs 100 miles a week, but how would he justify raising money for that? At least this is something a bit unusual. If you wouldn't do it, then do your own thing, but he could do far worse things than try to raise money for charity by racing and sight-seeing in 10 different countries.
I think it sounds like a great experience coupled with a good cause. I guess he could be a stiff and sit at home while he donates the money, but where is the fun in that. You people need to get out and live a little like this guy.
Main point: let him be, he's doing something with his life.
