These guys that do upwards of 120 miles per week on singles, what do their sessions look like? Do they just do long continuous runs or are the individual runs broken up with a little faster stuff?

Guys like whom? That's a lot of miles in singles.
I did similar to this last summer (I can only run singles now due to work/family comittments). It was really tough for me doing it all in sigles, and I definatley would have prefered to do 8/6 doubles if I could have. No way I could keep it that high once I started doing workouts 2X week in the fall.

I doubt most runners (Josh McDougal being the main exception I can think of) do more than 100 miles a week in only singles for any prolonged period of time. 80-100+ minutes of continuous running everyday is pretty taxing and its probably better to split into 60/30 minute doubles if you can.
Josh McDougal when he was healthy, Sam Chelanga(I've heard, not sure if this is true or not but I can believe it considering he was McDougal's training partner),not sure of the mileage Ritz did in college but I heard the CU guys do singles. Also there was an article a while back on the front page that said Chris Clark did 120 in singles in college.
I had a friend who used to do 140 a week in singles. Every day he would just get off work and go do a 20 miler.
The best runners in the world do doubles, so should you.
what about meb i heard he runs about 110-130 a week in singles?
Many marathoners will hit 100-110 in singles, but will also include a 4-6 miler most days to get 125 to 140.

Meb has said that he can't in 130 mile weeks without doing doubles, and when he has injuries he can't do doubles so his mileage suffers.
Meb does doubles.
Doubles. Like everyone else.
