It's unfortunate that the speakers aren't experts in the subject matter about which they are speaking, because the research topics themselves, particularly "rear vs midfoot biomechanics", "metabolic efficiency" and the physiology of overtraining, are quite interesting areas of research.
Frankly, the speakers shouldn't even be using the term "metabolic efficiency" in a topic as it relates to running, since efficiency is 0% when running on a level grade.
I doubt that anything useful comes out of this.
