To aggravate the injury. Advice please.
To aggravate the injury. Advice please.
Do you mean running with the sole purpose of aggrevating the injury?
Why on earth would you do that? Are you afraid that you are not really hurt enough to impress the doctor?
I assume that you were the type of kid that placed the thermometer on your lightbulb to make your mom think that your fever was higher.
I don't know about doctor but for a long time I have always tried to get in a run before a dental appt, or for that matter anything involving stress such as a job interview, but especially the dentist.
Running & shower seems to leave me with a relaxed feeling that makes such encounters go easier.
Yes, I am afraid that I am not hurt enough to impress the doctor. I am afraid that I will go in to see the doctor, and I won't be able to pinpoint or accurately describe my injury, or my injury won't show up as clearly on an MRI. And the doctor will pronounce me fine, and four days later I will go for a run and break even more.
I honestly can't tell--are these illogical thoughts?
Let me save you some time. Here is what the doctor will say.
"It hurts when you run? Don't run."
If it's a good doc, he'll help you more if you don't aggravate it. Exacerbating the injury will not change the method of treatment, only the time and likelihood of simple healing.
The massage therapist who worked on my injury asked me to try to run before seeing me (after the initial diagnosis and first level of treatment).
However, if the running was going to cause additional damage, I wouldn't do it.
Doctor gave me an MRI when I was hobbling around and couldn't walk normally. Also ran on the injury before appointment to pinpoint the exact spot because when I wasn't running it radiated everywhere. I only ran for 5 minutes. Good luck!
