For years, Kappa Delta sororities across the country have raised money for the prevention of child abuse as a major philanthropy project. On February 26, 2010, the Beta Chi chapter is hosting the 18th annual Shamrock 'n' Run 5K. Please come run or walk for the cause.
Last year our race raised over $54,000 for the prevention of child abuse and won the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life's Chapter Excellence Award for Outstanding Philanthropic Activity in 2008. This year we hope to exceed last year's donation. Please explore our website (kdchapelhill.org) to register for the race, make a donation, and find out how you can help fight child abuse.
Eighty percent of the funds raised through the Shamrock 'n' Run 5K will be given to the Center for Child and Family Health in Durham, NC. The remaining 20 percent will be given to the national Prevent Child Abuse America organization.
Shamrock 'n' Run Race Course is USATF Certified. (NC-03009-PH)
