Was supposed to meet some buddies to run on Saturday morning and got hosed by the iPhone alarm software error. I even took it slightly easy the night before so I could have a decent run. Slept right on through. I'll never trust that alarm again.

That's the lamest excuse for not running that I have ever heard. And I've heard a lot of them.
I can't believe you trust a cell phone alarm and don't bother to set a backup alarm like your frickin' watch or an old-fashioned alarm clock. What happens when your cell phone runs out of batteries? Do you oversleep then, too?

You set two alarms every night? Weirdo.

Hahaha, wow. I am sorry I offended you.
I don't normally set more than one alarm at night. I had my phone plugged into the wall, for what it is worth.
Out of curiosity, why trust a crappy $10 alarm clock or $50 watch but not a $500 phone? I mean, I appreciate your point but it doesn't seem to hold water.

I ran you dumb shit. I just ran about an hour later than expected.

Because the first two are primarily for telling time and the latter is not?

Hello Luddite. Welcome to 2011. The insecurity and discomfort that you feel is totally normal.

I disagree whole-heartedly. That's the whole POINT of using your cellphone as an alarm. You have it charging during the night, but if the power goes out, you don't wake up to a blinking "12:00" alarm clock since it can run on it's own power. A momentary outage doesn't reset it. If the battery IS about to run out, it'll beep, generally loud enough to wake you up so that you can do something about it before over sleeping. Also, a lot of people don't wear watches anymore as their cell phone has a clock. A watch is now redundant to many.

Agreed. This forum seems to have a lot of anti-technology folks. Kind of weird, but I guess that is why everyone is fine with the 1993 look of the website. It just seems weird to me.

Maybe not anti-technology, but certainly not completely trusting of it. Seems to make sense given the reason for this thread.

You took it easy on New Year's eve to save yourself for a morning run?! You ARE lame!

Poor analogy. I am not anti-tech. I do, however, appreciate the usefulness of a device that includes awakening me at a preset time among its primary functions.

Stop hanging around at the middle school parties, Luddite.
