I won't address the fact that you consider 14 drinks an "epic night bing sesh", but I would consider the 1 binge much worse for the athlete.
If you just drink two drinks a night, that pretty much adds up to 150-300 empty calories a night and that is it. 14 drinks in one night means the next days run will probably suffer, and your sleep that night will be compromised, both of which are bad.

One thing to think about is the impact on sleep. You could easily do two drinks every night without compromising sleep. An "epic binge sesh" usually means a night of poor sleep.
Really, I don't think that two drinks a night will have any impact on your running. The weekly binge would be more harmful than the daily drink or two.
I was a boozer for years and I am convinced that it caused me muscle issues. I had a bad hamstring problems & soreness in my shoulders all the time. When I quit drinking, the muscle problems gradually went away.
about the 2 drinks vs binge, I don't know. Short term it is not going to have great impact either way. It can be devilishly hard to quit, though, and long term it will erode you.
Alcohol is bad all the time. It is a scourge to society and should be abandoned entirely. Countless evils have their origin in this accursed drink. Abandon it if you want to achieve prosperity.
Says the Quran: "They ask you [O Muhammad] concerning alcoholic drink and gambling. Say: "In them is a great sin, and (some) benefit for men, but the sin of them is greater than their benefit." (2:219)
"Oh ye who believe! Intoxicants, gambling, sacrificing to stones, and divination by arrows are an abomination of Satan's handiwork: eschew such so that ye may prosper." (5:89).
Peace upon all.
The binge is worse because you delay muscle recovery at a cellular level if you exceed a "moderate" dose of alcohol in any one bout, according to this article:

"The White Wizard is cunning. He walks here and there they say, as an old man hooded and cloaked. And everywhere his spies slip past our nets."

I've never seen a better advert for beer!
Well maybe 1
Raise you glass in victory or down it in sorrow
When I was younger I drank 10 times as much weighed 3 st less and could run a lot faster!
It doesn't really matter either way. If you're not running a lot of miles I think the 2 beers per night would be worse because it'd probably lead to weight gain, though.

The 14 beers contain the same number of calories whether they are consumed all at once or over the course of a week.
