WoW! No way this guy ran the whole course. He doesn't appear in any pictures during the race! Possible scenario: he starts, leaves as soon as he can (first mile, where it's most crowded) then jumps back in for the last mile.

Those times - are they gun times or net times? Normally when only a single time is given, I'd expect it to be the gun time. I'm asking because in these photos we can see Mike Telling finishing ahead of Kip, even though the page in the link above lists Kip as 6th and Mike as 7th.

In fact, if you check some of the previous photos, then click "Next Timed Photo" several times, it appears that Mike just passes Kip in the last few seconds. The time on the race photos site doesn't appear to be matched to the actual finish time, but if you add about 1 minute, 33 seconds to the photo time it works out about right for the winner and for Mike Telling... but not for Kip.

No sign of a separate gun time and net time, but in the text file we can see there were 2 raceday signups that came 5th and 7th - not sure if one of those are Kip, but that was a good negative split for raceday signup #7030 - he split 1:36:55 and finished in 2:48:47.
Funny thing is those race numbers #7029 and #7030 don't seem to show up in any clear photos.

Yes. Kip was officially DQ'ed from this race which is why he is not in official results, only the unofficial Missoulian newspaper results.

in any races he doesnt actually run, he's creating an unfair environment for us all, doesnt matter if he's a 2:20 guy or a 4:00 guy.
That is strange though as to why Kip is finishing behind Mike in the pictures.

Yeah, well I guess he could still use these websites as evidence of a Boston qualifier (even though he was DQ in official results posted by timing company).
