After time of doing base training what would be a good distance to do a time trial in order to get an idea of an athletes fitness?
After time of doing base training what would be a good distance to do a time trial in order to get an idea of an athletes fitness?
I read in a training book (forgot which one but it was either Winning Running, Daniels Running Formula, Training for young distance runners, or healthy intelligent training) that 800m runners should do a 6 minute test on the track. It also said that every sub 1:50 athlete could cover at least 2000 meters. 4:48 1600 pace.
