I know it is politically incorrect to ask this, but is there any reason to doubt that 'breeds' of humans exist, endowed with distinct traits and characteristics, just as there are certainly distinct breeds of dogs and horses? No one would doubt a greyhound and a thoroughbred are great runners, versus a dachshund or a plowhorse, for example. Same species, able to reproduce with other breeds. The analogy seems clear to me for humans. What am I missing?

Sure, everyone is aware of Nazis and their crazy ideas. I believe they think they are superior to everyone because they are white. They are nuts. But that isn't my question. Is there a reason why, under pressure of natural selection, certain groups of humans wouldn't have developed different strengths and weaknesses, just as different groups of other animals have? Or are humans somehow different and our variations are really only 'skin deep'? I'm no master race person - I'm white but married to a Caribbean black, so I have no ax to grind. My kid and I were talking about different dog breeds, then we got to horses, and he then asked me if the same wouldn't be true of people.....
