All,
A brief history if you will:
I'm currently in my mid 20s, fairly new runner (5 years now), but long time athlete.
I'm currently at just under 17min for the 5k, down from 23 min 5 years ago, and 19 min two years ago.
before last year, never ran more than 25 miles a week for more than a few weeks at a time, and year long ave was around 20mpw
I spent last year ave 30miles a week or so, with a few months over the winter in the 40s and 50.
have built up and been sitting on 55-65 miles a week for the past two months or so, 40ish the few months before that.
Just starting to add in some faster running right now (that 16:54 was off no speed work). I have a tempo run a week (5 miles at 10mi to 13mi race pace), and a workout with something like 2x2000m or 3x1mi at 10k pace.
So quick recap, right now i'm at 60ish MPW and two workouts, where would you go from here? how would you structure the workouts?
My two faster days are mainly structured around group runs, i can change however i want to, have access to tracks, other groups, etc, hills, trails, flats, and plenty of time to train.
If i want to keep lowering my 5k, where should i go from here?
