For those of you who belive in the "eat the rich" philosophy of taxation, which of the following mental processes do you use to justify it?
1) Need as a claim: since the rich don't need their money as much as someone else, it rightfully belongs to the person who needs it more.
2) Demonization of the rich: anyone who makes a lot of money is evil and must be destroyed.
3) Communism: society funcitons best when wealth is treated as common property.
4) Concept destruction: why should we give the rich a free handout by cutting taxes?
5) Blame the corporations: they're all corporationy in their big corporation buildings and blah, blah, blah...
6) Collectivist religion: government spending reflects the will Society. Therefore, whatever level of taxation that It chooses is justified. All hail the great Collective Consciousness.
...feel free to add your own if I omitted your particular brand of liberal thought.
