Fiercest High School Rivalries

The best rivalry in the nation has to be MEAD vs Ferris.

Royal moved to D2, so they are not rivals with Arcadia in D1.

La Costa Canyon probably has a bigger rivalry with Great Oak than Dana or Torrey at this point.

I would assume that Saratoga and FM have to have a bit of a rivalry going, since they go 1-2 in the country and state each year.

I think York vs. the rest of Illinois is a great rivalry!

I remember when Toga and Shendehowa were 1-2 in the nation and had a dual meet! Toga won 27-28.

On a lower level. There were two next door schools in Upstate NY (M-E and JC) who's girls were 2-3 in the state Class B. They had a couple duals with hundreds of spectators-it was like an invitational. A lot of fun.

Dana Hills vs. Trabuco Hills

John Bapst Memorial in Bangor, Maine and Russell-Tyler-Ruthton in Tyler, Minnesota. Those two just plain can't stand each other.

The Woodlands and Kingwood

Saugus and the entire state of California

Anybody v. Eisenhower. They have a knack for pissing people off.

In WA the rivalries seem to be Mead, Ferris, Eisenhower on the eastside, and Gig Harbor, Auburn Riverside, Tahoma on the westside. The top 3 is often from those 6 teams, and they race each other all season as well. Mead vs Ferris is the best rivalry though.

If we are speaking recent years you can count out Tahoma and Mead. Gig Harbor and Auburn Riverside are best friends for ever. It's more like Ferris VS North Central although I think they are good friends.

I like Eisenhower VS Washington. But not because of running. Because they just piss everyone off.
