Not a serious situation but an annoying one. I was in a car accident a year ago where I was hit from behind. One of the players in the car behind me has their lawyer contacting me for information (do I have insurance, and if I do, the policy # and company). I will be contacting my insurance company but in the meantime...Do I have to answer the letter from the lawyer? There was a police report. Can't they get all they need from that?
It's been a year and you haven't told your insurance company yet???
Do you have an agent or did you just buy the insurance off the internet or from some lady on tv?
Just give him the answer I tell all my clients to say, "My Dad is a retired attorney who will sit in court day after day, file motion after motion, and settle with you in the end for the same offer, just to get a kick in his old age. How much time ya got on your hands, counselor?"

The answer to your question is yes they have all of the information they need. Do not respond. You have no reason to. If they are trying to get more information, make the scumbags go through the court system and request a deposition.
Something wrong here. You were in an accident a year ago, and now a lawyer representing (presumably) a passenger in the car is contacting you for information?
You have no reason to worry.
