So I am hearing. Too bad, the best indoor meet in the US these days. Another nail in the coffin for the sport in the US. Tyson last year cancelled and this year Reebok.

That's too bad. I visited Boston and went to BIG several times over the years. It's a great indoor meet. Love them Dunkin Donuts. We don't have Dunkin Donuts where I live. You guys reading this have to support your local meets, buy tickets and show up. Our great traditions are dying. Millrose has been watered down with filler races. Penn Relays can't get any college track and distance fans and has to interleave Jamaican and Catholic HS races in between to make the stands look full. Prefontaine has to dummy down the elite races selling it's long tradition to the IAAF DL clowns. NYC Grand Prix DL is run at a smelly garbage dump. Run for the Dream won't be back. The Peyton Jordan meet, LA Indoors, Modesto Relays is gone. Tyson is history. It's your fault for these meets dying. You didn't show up when you had the chance. Can't say much about your malingering.
Source?
I doubt they would have posted this if it wasnt going ahead:
Troll.. And really bad trolling at that
When I was in Virginia I heard from reliable sources that it was on. It's always possible something has changed since then, but I wouldn't believe it until I heard it from a good source.
It is a little weird that their website hasn't been updated, but it looks like they have a few updates on their Facebook page:
It is on. They're updating their website.
I would not consider anything on letsrun (Renato excepted) to be a reliable source.
Boston Indoor Games
Update on Ticket Availability: we've been forced to push back our launch date for ticket sales for the 2011 Boston Indoor Games. We hope to have tickets available any day now, and will make it known the moment they are available for sale. I can't make BIG this year because of work. But I'll make Daegu WCs, USAXC, NCAA DI Outdoors. If you have the time and the money go to it. You see the shape meets are in. So don't make any excuses, damn it.
This website claims to be selling tickets:

I definitely don't recommend buying from them until the official BIG website announces ticket sales.

Maybe if these meets were not scheduled when every college and high athlete is competing at a meet themselves. Same for the TV, why show meets on Saturday afternoon, when most track and field athletes are outside competing.....Sorry, your thinking is not square...
It comes down to money. Any college athlete that can get into the Tyson Meet (invitational fields when they had them) is going to compete there. And BTW, the Tyson COLLEGE Meet is still being held: Only the professional meet on Friday night was cancelled.
Also Run for The Dream is NOT cancelled, nor was Peyton Jordan last year. The Modesto Relays is now called the California Invitational Relays and is held in Sacramento now (the meet was not supported well by the community of Modesto, so it was moved to save it).
Oh yeah, I missed that comment about Run for the Dream. It is definitely on and will have elite fields (although I don't know how good the prize money is):
I don't know where people on this site come up with some of these things. Run For The Dream already has a published schedule for the high school qualifying meets.
PJ used to be an daytime sat elite meet on the USATF circuit. It was cancelled. The name PJ was then re-assigned to the Card Invite which is a sat nite time trial. PJ still has low attendance. We need for local Friscans to show up. It's free parking and no tickets so you just gotta drive.
RFTJ was cancelled a few years back. The 1st RFTJ had a few elites. Now I don't think it has any elites, well, maybe 1 or 2. They moved the date from MLK monday to a weekend to get fans, but people didn't show. I hope people come this year now that I hear it's on.
ModR is gone. It always had the name Cal Intl Relays even when it was held in Modesto. ModR died because you LA and Frisco fans stopped driving up in the AM to make the meet. You killed ModR by not showing up.
Home Depot is dead. The idiots held it at an unfinished venue with no running water, no toilets, no concession, no shade, no seat backs, no pavement to the stands, $10 per car parking, with the media crowded at field level since the media box was built on the wrong side of the stadium, the primo end seats roadblocked so we can't watch the PV, and it was held at noon when the smog is the worst. The idiots at Home Depot scheduled the meet the same sat when massive HS meets took up all the local LA fans. The only reason Home Depot went on for so long is that there are hundreds of current Oly/WC medalists who train and live a few minutes away and zipped down the Artesia Freeway to Cal State Compton for a day's workout. I loved Home Depot. The sprints/hurdles had Oly/WC medalists in every lane !
