Beer vs. Pop. What is worse for a runner?

Poop would be bad.
Pop? Seriously? Go back to DyeStat.
Soda
or TONIC
Why would you want to compare an alcoholic beverage to a male parent?
My pop would drink and then beat me every time I came back from a run so I would say both together was not good for my running.

What are you, 14? There is no way an adult would ask this question.
the answer is soda (i'm not from a place where we say pop) for the following reasons:
1) beer is awesome
2) alcohol in moderation is healthy
3) beer can get you laid
Call it coke, all of it. It doesn't matter if it is Sprite, Coke, Cheerwine or Mountain Dew, it is all called coke.
I'm in the upper midwest and I call it pop. I drink way too much diet pop, and I don't like beer. I'd say beer is worse because it tastes like crap.
Okay, so you dislike beer and call coke "pop."
You are 0 for 2.
Here, look at this:

I'd say beer is worse. Pot, in small amounts, is what life is all about. Just take a couple of bong hits in the morning, a couple of hits at lunch time, and smake a few doobies in the evening and you will be fine. Yes, my son, pot is the answer. Don't get involved with the beer drinking crowd they are all inbred idiots. Go with the reefer crowd, we know the deal.
If I want a Diet Coke, specifically, I will ask for a Diet Coke. If I don't care what kind of pop I get, I'll ask for pop.

Both provide no nutritional value, but more harm will be caused to you and others who drink beer in excess. Both in moderation are fine, but you will live a much happier and healthier life if you avoid them.
Soda is full of more corn syrup and proccessed sugar.
Beer is actually good for a runner. One or two a day.
My doctor actually showed me an article in his medical magazine showing beer to have positive effects on th averag person that exercises 4 minutes to 1 hour per day - taken in moderation.

Your Dr probably also has stock in Miller.
I've lived all over so I call it soda pop.
My uncles liver told me beer is worse for you than soda pop.
Depends on what kind of drinker you are.
I used to be a 2-3 beers a day guy, with one day out of the week where I would party it up a little and do 5-7 in the evening. A stout, quality beer is what, 200 calories or more? so, I was piling on about 20 beers a week...4000 calories...that's 2 days worth of caloric intake for a normal person. When I stopped drinking, limiting it to once a week 2-3 beers, the weight started to just melt off.
Soda, I can get by on one at night. I hate drinking too much soda in the day primarily because it keeps me from feeling good in workouts. Beer on the other hand, once I knock out one in the evening, I am always in the the mood for one more, and then...hell, I'm feeling it a little so I may as well grab one more and go straight to bed.
If you are trying to hit race weight, my advice is to give up the majority of your drinking. Honestly, if you are doing any kind of high level training (80+ a week), I would back off in general. My guess is that soda doesn't put your body in the shi**er the same way booze does, making it hard to recover from tough workouts.
my 2 cents, I'm no nutritionist.

Ever seen a West Virginian's teeth?
Shit, it wasn't beer that screwed your uncle's liver. My guess is that he was drinking something a little more potent if he didn't make 47.
Here, watch this:
Fast forward to 3:15. It is extremely interesting...
